Carnet

Beta and early access

For independent and home-care nurses

Tick off the care. Your record is written as you go.

You tick off each visit as you go, and it goes into a dated journal. Encrypted on your device, works offline, built by an independent nurse.

Ten fictional patients, nothing to install, no card.

In Switzerland or Quebec?

Switzerland: use the Swiss edition (French, German), which adds insurer billing. Quebec: the Quebec edition (French). Everywhere else: this international edition. Your Carnet stays tied to the edition where you create it. Swiss details

You tick off a visit: it is written to the journal, timed when you did it.

  • Encrypted on your device
  • Works without a network
  • Free on your device

  • Making up receipts by handNumbered, ready to print.
  • Hunting for last week’s entryOne dated journal per patient.

Numbered receipts, ready to print.

What Carnet does for billing depends on your edition.

Receipts for your patients

Numbered, in your practice’s currency, ready to print. A number is never reused.

No insurer billing outside Switzerland

Carnet has no billing module for your country and sends nothing to an insurer or a public scheme.

In Switzerland: full billing

Billing in the official formats, with a QR bill. Sending leaves from your own computer, never through our servers.

Swiss details: OPAS 7, MediData, cantons

The Swiss edition is in French and German. It is built for independent nurses billing under the KLV/OPAS.

  • OPAS 7 declaration: the assessment of required care, a, b, c, ready to sign.
  • Invoice: the services and minutes of the closed visit carry over. You read it, then you send it.
  • Before sending, Carnet warns you if the declaration has not been sent to the insurer yet.
  • Sending runs from your computer, through the MediData connector, under your own MediData connection (your contract with MediData). Never through our servers. Carnet does not charge for sending. Without a connection, you print the QR bill.
  • You drop in your bank’s camt statement: payments are matched to your invoices, even grouped ones. The file never leaves your device.
  • An expiring prescription, a reassessment due: Carnet reminds you.
  • Insurer follow-up: paid, pending, refused with the reason, to chase.
  • Insurer review: you choose the period, and Carnet prepares the document for the medical officer (PDF, ODT or DOCX): intake, care plan, journal. Every entry is dated at the real time; with the managed plan, the server chains each entry and the journal is timestamped every day it changes, so a later change would be detectable.
  • Practice management: expenses and receipts, AVS advance payments, mileage log, annual file for your accountant.

Cantonal residual financing: the canton’s share is prepared in Excel. You read it and file it yourself.

  • Valais: T5 workbook per CMS (medico-social centre).
  • Geneva, Fribourg, Jura, Neuchâtel: the canton’s official model.
  • Bern: totals to enter in the eRV portal.
  • Vaud is not covered yet: write to us if it is your canton.

Taking time off?

Your cover nurse pays nothing, and gets a clear route sheet for each patient. How it works (in French)

Made by a nurse

“Carnet is the tool I wish I’d had on my first day as an independent nurse.”

David, independent nurse in Valais, Switzerland

Your records stay yours.

Your records are encrypted on your device, with a key the publisher does not hold.

Our servers cannot read them

Your records reach our servers only encrypted: we cannot open them.

Leave when you want

With everything: the .carnet file, and each patient’s record as PDF, ODT or DOCX.

Offline, as usual

In a basement or a valley without coverage, you write as normal. Where sync is on, it catches up when the connection returns.

The code is public: someone you trust can check it. Open source, AGPLv3.

How to check it (in French)

Free on your device. Paid only if you confirm.

Beta and early access · you export everything, any time

Free on your device

No charge

Your records, your rounds, your receipts, offline. No account, no time limit.

Free means your records live on this device. Export your .carnet backup, or take the managed backup. When you are ready, you open your own Carnet and bring in your patients from a spreadsheet (CSV export), or one by one.

Backup, sync and cover

The “managed practice” plan in the app.

  • Your records on your phone during rounds, and on your computer in the evening.
  • Phone lost or broken: you get your records back.
  • Holidays, illness: a colleague takes over your patients, and you cut off their access when you return.
  • A question: the author of the software answers you.

One seat is one nurse with an account of their own; up to five cover accesses open at the same time are included.

All included: encrypted backup, sync between your devices, cover for your days off, support.

In Switzerland: CHF 69.– per month and per seat, or CHF 690.– per year, two months free. Other countries: see the price for yours.

Create your account in the app: the 30-day trial starts at your first sync.

No card. Nothing is billed without your confirmation.

  • If you stop, the unused part you paid in advance is refunded pro rata.
  • The end of the beta and early access changes neither the price nor your freedom to leave.

Outside Switzerland, sales are open country by country: you pay by card to Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record.

Questions

Is it free, then paid?

Your records are free on your device, with no time limit. The managed plan starts with a 30-day trial and becomes paid only if you confirm. Details: prices.

What about my current patients?

You bring them in from your spreadsheet (CSV export), or one by one, while your old system keeps running. The file is read on your device and sent nowhere.

What if I lose my phone?

On the free version, your .carnet backup lets you recover everything: make it regularly. With the managed plan, your records stay on your other device and in the encrypted backup.

Do I need a computer?

Not for your visits: they fit on your phone. In Switzerland, sending insurer invoices through MediData runs from a computer.

Is my patients’ data protected? And offline?

It is encrypted on your device with a key the publisher does not hold. We cannot open it. The code is public, so you can check. Offline, everything is on your device: you read, tick off and write. With the managed plan, sync catches up when the connection returns.

Does Carnet make decisions for me?

No. Carnet is not a medical device. It shows back what you enter and makes no diagnosis. Clinical judgment stays yours.

Does Carnet bill the insurers in my country?

Outside Switzerland, no: it prepares numbered receipts only. In Switzerland, it bills in the official formats.

What if Carnet stops?

If the managed service had to end, you would be told at least 90 days ahead. Even if David could no longer run it, a trustee would notify you within 30 days and keep sync read-only and export open during that notice. Your local use does not depend on us.

What if I stop?

You keep everything. The .carnet file is your complete encrypted backup. Patient by patient, you export a readable record as PDF, ODT or DOCX. Unused prepaid time is refunded pro rata: see the refund policy.

Try it tonight, without an account.
